Shadow Dance expresses the fruity, elegant, minerally side of South African Chenin Blanc, with a lifted, soaring aroma that recalls tree fruit and ginger spice. On the palate, Shadow Dance is streamlined and direct, with a beam of green apple, pear and verbena notes that glide to a crisp, fresh, mineral finish.

It’s amazing to think that Chenin Blanc has been produced in South Africa since Bordeaux was still a swampy backwater, since California was an unknown wild region hardly found on any map, and Chianti was regarded as a white wine!  Today, Chenin Blanc is South Africa’s most widely planted grape variety, and the cornerstone of the country’s wine industry.
 
South Africa’s Western Cape wine region is a beautiful area of mountainous outcroppings and isolated valleys situated within close proximity to the cooling influence of Atlantic Ocean breezes.
